Muslim children have very particular needs that can only be truly served comprehensively by placing them within Muslim homes. We have dealt with queries from dozens of placing authorities on issues related to Muslim children in care, and in light of the demand for more information have devised a basic factsheet that can be downloaded, click HERE.

Since launching our service we have built up links with many local authorities in and around London and the UK, and have managed placements for thirteen placing authorities to date. We are very pleased that we have had an excellent response - references can be supplied from many satisfied placing authorities (to download testimonials click here).

We take pride in passionately doing our best to serve the interests of Muslim children and young people in care. For detailed information please view our press releases and past newsletters.

Foster Care Link has a pool of diverse foster carers ready to take placements. The diversity of this pool includes carers from a wide range of ethnic backgrounds including Asian, Black and Mixed Heritage; personal circumstances including young couples to established family groups. With regard to Islamic practice, this also varies; from carers that are fully practising and observant in all areas of their faith, to those that follow the basics yet maintain their Islamic heritage. Carers also come from a wide geographical area, living within many London Boroughs as well as the surrounding counties, with a few in locations centred around the South including Slough, Surrey and Kent. We now also operate in the Midlands.

Making referrals to Foster Care Link is simple. You may follow one of the two options below:

Option A: Send profiles of the children and young people requiring placements directly by fax (020 7923 1754) or email (admin@fostercarelink.com) - please ensure that a cover sheet is attached with full details of person to contact regarding the placement. Our duty social worker will then contact you to discuss further details and offer possible placement matches.

Option B: Call our Referrals Line on 020 7923 0330, and our administrator will discuss the case with you and complete a referral matching form. Our duty social worker will thereafter contact you to take further details if necessary, and will then offer possible placement matches after consideration.

Please also feel free to contact us at any time to informally discuss our service and how we can work with you to ensure Muslim children and young people in the care system can achieve the best outcome.
